Bring Your Own AI

Your AI assistant
for IBMi

iAssist connects your own AI provider to your IBMi systems — reading live state, recommending the next move, and acting only on your say-so. One platform, three ways to deploy.

System Architecture

Your AI provider, your IBMi systems, connected through the deployment you choose.

  • Deploy once — your whole team connects through the browser, nothing to install
  • Role-based access keeps each user scoped to the right IBMi partitions
  • Centrally managed AI credentials and audit trail across the organization

Observe. Recommend. Act.

However you deploy, every app runs the same grounded AI workflow — it reads live system state, suggests the next step with context, and runs the change only when you approve.

Observe

Pulls live metrics, jobs, storage, and message queues straight from your partitions — so every answer is grounded in real system state, never a guess.

Recommend

Your AI provider reasons over that context and proposes the next step — diagnosing risk, ranking options, and explaining the why before anything runs.

Act

Approved actions execute with full guardrails and an audit trail. Bring your own AI key; nothing touches your systems without your say-so.

We're getting low-storage warnings on PROD. What's eating the disk?

Your system ASP is 91.4% used — that's what's tripping the warnings. I pulled the top consumers so you can see where it's going:

  • HISTLIB/SALESHIST — 142.6 GB (history file, hasn't been reorganized in 90+ days)
  • /tmp/spooldump — 38.2 GB (IFS, old spool extract)
  • QGPL/QPRINT — 11.9 GB (output queue backlog)

The history file is the real lever here. Reorganizing SALESHIST would likely reclaim ~40 GB, and clearing the stale IFS dump frees another 38 GB. Want me to draft the reorg, or look at what's holding the spool?

iAssist replies are grounded in live IBM i state.
